The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) has teamed up with globalbridge, a digital platform designed to help young people showcase their skills and connect with potential employers. The partnership aims to address the construction sector’s skills shortage by giving students greater access to career opportunities.

globalbridge allows students to create multimedia profiles highlighting their skills, projects, and achievements, offering employers a broader view of their abilities beyond academic grades. Schools also benefit from the platform’s data insights, helping them tailor support for students’ career development.

“The skills shortage in our industry is a challenge we cannot ignore,” said Viki Bell, director of operations at the CEA. “globalbridge offers a practical and innovative solution by connecting employers with young talent and giving students a chance to shine in ways that go beyond traditional grades. It’s an inspiring step forward for workforce development, and we’re proud to support it.”

Jacqui Miller-Charlton MBE, a supporter of globalbridge and part of the Miller Groundbreaking team, describes it as a “game-changer” for introducing young people to careers they might not have considered. Miller Groundbreaking is the first CEA member to adopt the platform, working with globalbridge to streamline applications for young talent.

Jacqui also encourages other employers to engage with the platform. “Kids are always on their tablets and phones. globalbridge uses technology to connect with them directly, providing guidance and inspiration.”

With the support of the CEA, globalbridge is expanding its reach in the construction sector, helping businesses find new talent while giving young people more opportunities. The partnership is a step towards a more inclusive and sustainable workforce for the future.

To further promote awareness, the CEA will host a webinar on 25 February 2025, featuring Jacqui Miller-Charlton MBE, to discuss how globalbridge is connecting young people with career opportunities.
