French contractor Eiffage partners with Google Cloud to advance its AI strategy.

This partnership will help Eiffage improve team efficiency and ease of working through a structured approach to technology.

Using Google Cloud's AI and data solutions, Eiffage will implement an AI strategy to support its operations and simplify tasks. The collaboration includes creating a technology platform using Google Cloud solutions like BigQuery, Apigee, Vertex AI, and Gemini models, ensuring high security and confidentiality standards.

Concrete applications include:

Predictive maintenance: AI will predict when concrete machinery and equipment need maintenance, reducing downtime and preventing costly breakdowns.

Quality control: AI-powered image recognition will help detect defects in concrete structures, ensuring high-quality standards and reducing manual inspections.

Project management: AI will analyse project data to optimise scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management, improving project delivery times and budget adherence.

Sustainability monitoring:** AI will monitor and analyse the environmental impact of concrete production and construction activities, helping Eiffage meet its sustainability targets.

Eiffage will focus on these practical AI applications and benefit from the sustainable infrastructure of Google Cloud, which aligns with Eiffage’s sustainability goals. Additionally, Eiffage University will introduce data and AI courses to enhance employees' understanding and skills in AI, promoting innovation within the company.

Jean Philippe FAURE, chief information officer at Eiffage, said: "AI will support our teams across all functions and regions. This partnership will fully utilise our data to improve efficiency, create value, and drive sustainable growth while maintaining high security standards."

Isabelle Fraine, managing director France at Google Cloud, added: "Eiffage's AI strategy is built on a strong data foundation and a human-first approach. We are excited to help Eiffage move from AI experimentation to practical implementation."

Eiffage is a top European construction and concessions company with activities in construction, real estate, civil engineering, metal, roads, energy, and concessions. With over 78,200 employees, Eiffage generated €21.8 billion (£18.5 billion) in revenue in 2023, with 31% from outside France.
