Holcim proposes Kim Fausing as new chairman
Holcim has announced that Kim Fausing has been proposed as the next chairman of its board of directors. The proposal will be voted on at Holcim’s Annual General Meeting in 2025. If elected, Fausing will succeed Jan Jenisch, who is stepping down as chairman to take on the role of chairman and CEO of Holcim’s planned North American company.
Fausing, who joined Holcim’s board in 2020 and serves on its audit committee, brings extensive experience in global business and sustainability. He is currently the president and CEO of the Danfoss Group, a Danish company specialising in energy-efficient building solutions, electrification, and industrial productivity. Fausing has held this position since 2017 and previously served as the company’s chief operating officer for nine years.
Commenting on the proposal,Jan Jenisch, chairman of Holcim, said: “Kim is a highly successful CEO of a global technology leader in energy-efficient building solutions, electrification and machine productivity. As an acting CEO for over seven years, along with five years as a Holcim board member, we are confident Kim will be a great chairman for Holcim.”
Fausing, a Danish national born in 1964, holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Aarhus Teknikum and an MBA from Henley Business School in the UK.
Holcim is a global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions, with net sales of CHF 27.0 billion (£24.4 billion) in 2023. The company employs 63,000 people across its operations in Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa and focuses on sustainable solutions, including ECOPact and ECOPlanet materials, ECOCycle circular technology, and Elevate roofing systems.
