Specialist construction chemical supplier Oscrete has used the UK Concrete Show to launch its newest products, Colourplas Compact and Tegla Extrude, into UK market.
Speaking at the UK Concrete Show, Scott Wilson, operations director, Oscrete, said: “Colourplas Compact and Tegla Extrude will improve the workability, aesthetics and performance of concrete mixes, while reducing cost in use for the producer.”
Colourplas Compact is a block processing aid designed to improve the compaction and workability of dry and semi-dry concrete mixes.
It is a concentrated long chain fatty acid emulsion-based processing aid which improves dry and semi-dry concrete mix compaction and workability while maintaining or allowing for increases to water content.
Designed for use in the production of masonry blocks, block pavers, slabs, cast stone and other dry/semi dry concretes, Colourplas Compact helps reduce cement content, improves colour intensity, stability and compaction, increases block strength and gives a better quality surface finish, all while enhancing freeze-thaw resistance.
Tegla Extrude is a polymerbased superplasticiser, designed to promote exceptional performance in extruded concrete such as hollow-core, roof tile manufacture and other dry/semi-dry concrete processes.
It is the latest addition to the Tegla range of products, designed to enhance extruded concrete and in turn provide better slip and improved surface finish while maintaining good early strength and rheological properties.
Based on modified polymers which have been designed to produce exceptional performance in extruded concrete, if correctly dosed, Tegla Extrude allows for cement reduction, water reduction and improved extrusion of precast concrete units, resulting in high early and long-term strengths.
Oscrete product development and sustainability manager Matthew Gabriel said: “We believe that sustainability means having an ethical commitment to taking responsible actions that benefit our planet and society. Our new products aim to reduce cement and water usage in concrete mixes while improving the performance, durability and longevity of concrete-based products.”
Tegla Extrude and Colourplas are both available in 200 litre drums, 1000 litre IBC’s and bulk delivery.
