Acquisition aims to expand Saint-Gobain's presence in construction chemicals worldwide

Saint-Gobain has announced an agreement to acquire FOSROC, a global player in construction chemicals, for $1.025 billion (£780 million).

The acquisition is part of Saint-Gobain's strategy to expand its presence in construction chemicals worldwide.

FOSROC, which operates 20 manufacturing plants and employs around 3,000 people, provides a range of technical solutions including admixtures and additives for concrete and cement, adhesives, sealants, waterproofing solutions, concrete repair products, and flooring solutions.

FOSROC is expected to generate $487 million (£380 million) in sales with an EBITDA margin of 18.7% in 2024.

Commenting on the acquisition, Saint-Gobain CEO Benoit Bazin said: “The acquisition of FOSROC is perfectly aligned with our strategic plan to reinforce our global presence in construction chemicals and strengthen our foothold in high-growth emerging markets, particularly in India and the Middle East.”

The acquisition, financed in cash, is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025, subject to customary conditions.
