FM Conway appoints new CEO

Joanne Conway has been appointed CEO of infrastructure-services contractor FM Conway, just 18 months after becoming chair, and 20 years since joining the company as a marketing coordinator.

Conway will take up the additional role of CEO of the family-run business, which was founded by her grandfather Frank Conway in 1961, along with her current executive Group chairperson role.

She replaces Adam Green, who was appointed chair in 2019, but who has stepped down as CEO due to health reasons.

Conway, daughter of late chairman and owner Michael Conway, was appointed Group chairperson in May 2022 and has worked in the business for more than 20. She has been a member of the board since 2011.

She was also responsible for FM Conway’s manufacturing side of the business as managing director of the Aggregates and Asphalt division, making FM Conway the second largest asphalt producer in the South East.
