CCS and Veriforce CHAS partner to boost site monitoring

The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) has teamed up with Veriforce CHAS, a leader in compliance and risk management, to enhance its site inspection services across the UK. This partnership comes as pressure grows on the construction industry to improve build quality under increasing public and government scrutiny.

The CCS is a UK-wide initiative aimed at raising standards across the construction industry. It monitors sites registered with the scheme to ensure they follow the Code of Considerate Practice, which focuses on areas like safety, environmental care, and respect for local communities. Independent monitors assess the performance of construction companies, highlighting areas for improvement.

Through its collaboration with Veriforce CHAS, the CCS can now scale its monitoring services more effectively. CHAS, originally known as the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, is a well-established UK accreditation body. It focuses on ensuring contractors meet strict health, safety, and risk management standards. Veriforce, CHAS’s parent company, provides compliance solutions globally, helping businesses maintain safety and regulatory standards.

This new partnership will provide several benefits for CCS members:

- Scalability: The combined reach of CCS’s experienced monitors and CHAS’s nationwide presence allows for more inspections, meeting increasing demand.

- Quality Assurance: CHAS’s established standards ensure consistent quality across all services.

- Efficiency: Companies will have the option to access a broader range of services at once, including CHAS’s audits for various certifications such as ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.

Amit Oberoi, executive chairman of CCS, said the partnership will help streamline operations and improve efficiency for contractors and developers: “Our partnership enables us to scale faster, make a bigger impact, and enhance the overall efficiency of our operations.”

Alex Minett, head of products and markets for Veriforce CHAS, emphasised their shared goal of improving safety and quality across the UK construction sector, saying: "We’re excited to collaborate and broaden our impact."

The partnership strengthens both organisations' missions to improve standards in construction, delivering safer and more efficient practices across the industry.
