National Site Award winners revealed

The Most Considerate Site Award is the most coveted of the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s awards, returning after almost 5 years. It’s a very selective award and it’s given to sites in four separate value bands. This year it was awarded to roughly 1 in 1000 eligible sites.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) has named the standout performers in the construction industry with the announcement of its 2024 National Site Awards.

Out of over 5,500 eligible sites, five projects have been recognized for their exceptional performance, earning the title of the Most Considerate Site of 2024 Award.

The winners include:

- Tyn-y-Bryn Bridge in Tonyrefail, managed by Balfour Beatty, in the under £5 million category.

- Clements - Hounslow Infill in London, led by Wates Residential, in the £5 to £50 million category.

- Eden Grove in Stains-upon-Thames, overseen by Berkeley Homes, in the £50 to £100 million category.

- Southsea Coastal Scheme - Frontage 4 in Portsmouth, a collaboration between VolkerStevin and Boskalis Westminster, also in the £5 to £50 million category.

- NTT LON1 Phase 2 works in London, directed by Laing O'Rourke, in the over £100 million category.

Additionally, CCS recognized 522 Bronze, 121 Silver, and 66 Gold Award winners. The full list is available on the CCS website.

These awards reflect site performance evaluated against CCS's Code of Considerate Practice, which assesses how considerate sites are towards their local community, the environment, and their workforce. Sites are divided into project value bands to ensure fair comparison.

After a four-year break, the Awards returned in 2024, acknowledging site performance recorded during 2023. The CCS also acknowledged the commitment of select construction projects that became Ultra Sites, representing the highest level of registration for considerate construction.

The Awards ceremonies took place in Manchester, Edinburgh, and London, with nearly 2000 guests in attendance. The events began with a recorded message from the Rt. Hon. Lee Rowley MP, Minister of State for Housing & Planning. Each ceremony was hosted by influential organizations in the construction industry.

Revealing the winners, Amit Oberoi, CCS executive chairman, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have brought back the National Site Awards format for 2024. These Awards are much loved by the construction industry, and we received an overwhelming show of support for their return.

“Winning a CCS National Site Award is the mark of the highest levels of performance in the three areas of our Code of Considerate Practice: Respect the Community, Care for the Environment, Value the Workforce.

“Our Awards are very selective, and the bar was set extremely high. Only the top performing sites of the UK have been receiving an Award.

“On behalf of the CCS, I would like to congratulate all our National Site Awards winners, with extra special congratulations to the winners of the Most Considerate Site of the UK.”

Sponsored by Build-Zone Insurance, Procure Pro, and TCM Capital, the 2024 National Site Awards celebrate excellence in the construction industry.
