CRA appoints new executive officer

Lauren Fairley, executive officer, the Concrete Repair Association.

Lauren Fairley has been appointed as executive officer of the Concrete Repair Association (CRA), a move aimed at supporting the organisation’s strategic growth and expanding its role in the construction sector.

Fairley, who has worked with the CRA for over 20 years and previously served as secretary, brings detailed knowledge of the association and its membership, along with established links across the construction industry.

In her new role, she will lead on lobbying efforts, profile-raising, and development of the CRA’s business scope. This includes building relationships with national bodies such as National Highways, Build UK, and various professional institutions, as well as acting as the CRA’s primary spokesperson at government level.

She will also oversee strategic initiatives designed to expand the association’s remit, with potential inclusion of other specialist areas like bridge-deck waterproofing and post-tensioning. Alongside this, she will have delegated responsibility for the CRA’s events programme, working with the publicity team.

Steven Harrison, CRA chair and sales director at Resapol, said: “Lauren’s appointment as executive officer is an exciting and natural step. Her understanding of the association’s values, paired with her passion for member support and industry collaboration, make her the ideal person to take the CRA forward into a new era.”

Commenting on her appointment, Fairley said: “I’m honoured to take on this new role at such a pivotal time for the CRA and the wider construction industry. The association has a strong legacy, and I’m excited to help shape its future – broadening our influence, building new partnerships and championing the vital work of our members.”

The CRA is the trade association for the UK concrete repair sector and forms part of the Structural Concrete Alliance.
