12th consecutive win solidifies its place as a top performer in the material handling sector

Combilift has been recognised as one of Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies for the 12th consecutive year, solidifying its place as a top performer in the material handling sector. The company also retained its Platinum status at an awards ceremony in Dublin on 19 September.

The Deloitte Best Managed Company Award recognises businesses for their overall management excellence, focusing on four key areas: strategy, capability and innovation, culture and commitment, and governance and financial performance. Companies are evaluated on their ability to maintain long-term success and sustainable growth. The programme, which started in Canada in 1993, has expanded globally, with the Irish version launching in 2008. The programme is currently run in a total of 48 countries across four continents.

Combilift, founded in 1998 by Martin McVicar and Robert Moffett, has grown significantly from a team of 10 to over 850 employees, serving clients in 85 countries. Known for its innovative handling equipment, the company has remained a strong player in both Irish and international markets. Commenting on the award, McVicar said: “It’s a great honour for us as a company to be acknowledged once again by a global brand such as Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies. The credibility of this global award enhances our brand to scale internationally.”

Combilift’s consistent success at these awards puts it in line with other past winners from the construction and manufacturing sectors, including John Sisk & Son, which also won the award in recognition of its leadership and innovation.

The Best Managed Companies Award is not just about financial success but about creating a business that excels in all areas of management and can adapt to challenges in a competitive market.
