Concrete recycling with MOBIREX MR 130i PRO

Specialist construction and demolition waste recycling company, Feess is making strides in sustainable construction at their facility in Kirchheim unter Teck, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, with their Kleemann MOBIREX MR 130i PRO mobile impact crusher playing a key part in their concrete processing operations.

Feess is committed to promoting a circular economy in the construction sector, collaborating with associations, and politicians, and through their in-house training centre. Every year, up to 2000 visitors learn about the potential of modern building material recycling. The company also uses photovoltaic systems for power, collects rainwater for use, and decorates its offices with recycled materials.

Walter Feess, awarded the German Environmental Award in 2016 and the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Award in 2020, explains the importance of recycling construction and demolition waste. "Construction and demolition waste account for over 50% of all waste in Germany. High-quality mineral construction raw materials end up in landfill sites every day, which is an incredible waste of resources. We aim to resolve this by recycling and reusing a large amount of building materials."

The MOBIREX MR 130i PRO was tested at Feess during its development phase and has since become a cornerstone of their operations. "The overall concept of the plant appealed to us instantly," says Feess. "The low fuel consumption, high performance, and powerful twin-deck post-screening unit were impressive. We now have two machines in one, which saves space and increases efficiency."

Operator Waldemar Rollheiser praises the machine’s performance and user-friendliness: "Overall, we are very satisfied with the output and final product quality. The control system is very intuitive and comfortable. I can monitor the current operation from anywhere on site via SPECTIVE CONNECT, which saves many trips and helps optimise the process."

Feess’ use of the MOBIREX MR 130i PRO exemplifies how modern technology can support both economic and environmental goals in the construction industry. Walter Feess adds, "With this plant, we achieve up to 20% more output while saving fuel. This aligns perfectly with our climate-friendly goals. The plant can also be operated entirely by electricity, and we are exploring ways to expand our photovoltaic capacity to power the plant with renewable energy."

Feess are focused on future sustainability, and their collaboration with Kleemann and Wirtgen Germany reflects their commitment to combating climate change through innovative recycling solutions. "We are happy to have partners who pursue the same objectives as ourselves: counteracting climate change in both an ecological and economical manner," concludes Feess.
