New appointment at Coomtech

Coomtech Clean Technologies have appointed Barry Mellor as vice-president sales/commercial

COOMTECH, decarbonization technology developers who have created and patented a new method of drying bulk solids that saves up to 75% of the energy required by traditional thermal driers and up to 100% of the CO2 emissions, have appointed Barry Mellor as vice-president of sales/commercial.

Bringing a wealth of experience in cementitious products, specialist concretes, and concrete product manufacturing, Mr Mellor has been involved in several major projects including 22 Bishopsgate, London Wall Place, and South Bank Tower. He is also the UK representative for Standards Committee BS EN13055.

At Coomtech, Mr Mellor (pictured) is set to focus on the carbon emission reduction challenges within the built environment and will promote the Coomtech Kinetic Drying System, which can support companies in their drive to Net Zero.

Mr Mellor joins Coomtech from Aggregate Industries where he worked as both lead commercial and technical manager and as cementitious materials manager for the group’s Lytag product, and was familiar with the Coomtech brand before joining the company.

Mr Mellor commented: ‘I am delighted to join Coomtech and have been aware of their exciting new technology and the impact it could have on carbon emissions within the built environment for the past couple of years. I look forward to working on the new challenges the industry faces as sustainability is placed high on the agenda.’
