NI Water announces £800m Professional Services Framework
Government-owned NI Water (Northern Ireland Water), the main provider of water and wastewater services in Northern Ireland, has announced a new Professional Services Framework, valued at up to £800 million, to support the planning and delivery of its Capital Works Programme.
This framework will underpin essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland over an initial four-year period, with the option to extend it until 2032. The final value of the framework will depend on available capital investment during the term.
The framework brings together local companies to provide a range of services, including project management, network modelling, digital innovation, and climate resilience planning. A key focus is on reducing carbon emissions and improving the efficiency of NI Water's infrastructure delivery.
Tzvetelina Bogoina, director of infrastructure delivery at NI Water, highlighted the framework’s importance in advancing the company’s Capital Delivery Business Plan. "This framework strengthens our ability to deliver sustainable water and wastewater services, ensuring environmental outcomes and boosting the local economy by involving the local Construction Supply Chain," she said.
Contracts have been awarded across five key areas:
Lot 1: NEC Site Supervisors – awarded to companies including Atkins-Realis UK Ltd, McAdam Design Ltd, and AECOM Ltd.
Lot 2: NEC Project Managers – awarded to firms such as Turner & Townsend and WSP UK Ltd.
Lot 3: Feasibility, Design, and Climate Change – involving Atkins-Realis UK Ltd, Mott MacDonald Ltd, and others.
Lot 4: Capital Programme Management Office Services – awarded to ChandlerKBS, Tetra Tech Consulting NI Ltd, and more.
Lot 5: Innovation and Efficiency – awarded to OutForm Consulting Ltd and Ove Arup and Partners Ltd.
These companies will support NI Water's projects from inception through to construction, ensuring efficient delivery aligned with its long-term strategy.
This framework complements other major capital frameworks and is the final major procurement in NI Water’s strategy to meet its delivery goals.
