Call for ASA 2024 Award submissions
The ASA’s awards program celebrates innovation and excellence in shotcrete projects globally, emphasizing its flexibility and efficiency in construction.
Additionally, the awards program not only recognizes excellence but also serves as a marketing opportunity for participants, promoting the benefits of shotcrete in construction.
Projects can be submitted in the following categories, which were chosen to ensure that all areas of the shotcrete industry have the opportunity to be nominated for an award, including architecture, new construction, infrastructure, international projects, pool & recreational, rehabilitation & repair, and underground.
Submitters should detail how shotcrete contributed to project success, focusing on overcoming challenges and showcasing innovative methods. By highlighting successful projects, the program encourages the adoption of shotcrete in various construction contexts, driving positive change in the industry.
Resources for submission include application questions, program and project guidelines, and an owner-release form.
The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2024.
2023 winners
Recipients of the 2023 awards were honoured at the 19th Annual ASA Awards Banquet held in conjunction with ASA’s 2024 ASA Shotcrete Convention and Technology Conference in March this year.
Speaking at the event, Charles Hanskat, executive director of the ASA, said: "Our Lakeway convention provided an ideal backdrop for recognizing our awardees, presenting shotcrete knowledge, conducting committee business, and fostering connections among attendees at the 2024 Shotcrete Convention and Technology Conference.
“Our Awards Banquet, the convention finale, spotlighted our member companies' shotcrete projects from around the globe that exemplify the best qualities of shotcrete placement. These projects confirm the benefits of shotcrete placement in concrete construction, including enhanced sustainability, architectural creativity, increased efficiency, and high quality. All with concrete’s inherent durability and serviceability."
The winners were selected by an awards committee comprised of shotcrete professionals who dedicated their time and expertise to review the nominees. The 2023 Outstanding Shotcrete Project recipients include:
