The Structural Concrete Alliance is hosting its Sustainability-Focused Industry Day on Thursday, 20 March 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre. The event will highlight the role of concrete in sustainable construction, offering insights from experts and showcasing innovative practices.

Chaired by Professor Paul Lambert of Mott MacDonald, the Industry Day will feature detailed presentations covering various aspects of sustainability in construction, from innovative materials and techniques to policy and regulatory perspectives. The speaker line-up will include presentations from Jenny Cooke, programme engineering manager at Network Rail, and Mark Brown, Scott MacDonald and Craig Watson from Mackenzie Construction.

A dynamic panel discussion will explore how organisations can implement sustainable practices, with a chance for attendees to engage with the experts directly. Confirmed exhibitors include Balvac, CPT, Devine, Fosroc, Gunite, Omniflex, and Resapol.

Helen Kirby, chair of the alliance’s marketing and publicity committee, said, “This event for leaders, experts and professionals from the concrete and construction industries will bring a day of insightful presentations and networking opportunities.”

The event welcomes engineers, architects, local authorities, and others interested in concrete's sustainability. Early registration is encouraged as spaces are limited.
