BDS publish 2021 industry output reports

Latest annual suite of industry-focused reports on outputs and market shares now available from BDS

BDS Market Intelligence have recently published their annual suite of industry-focused outputs and market share reports for 2021, including:

‘Estimated Outputs of Pits & Quarries and Marine Wharves in Great Britain’: In 2021, more than 750 aggregates sites were identified and BDS estimated the primary aggregates market in Great Britain to be c.193 million tonnes. 

‘Estimated Outputs of Asphalt Plants in Great Britain’: In 2021, the asphalt market in Great Britain was estimated to be c.27.8 million tonnes. More than 30 companies and nearly 260 asphalt plants were identified in the latest report. 

‘Estimated Outputs of Ready Mix Concrete Companies in Great Britain’: In 2021, around 1,290 ready-mixed concrete plants were identified to be operational in Great Britain with a total estimated market of more than 24 million m³. 

‘Estimated Movements of Aggregates from Rail Depots in Great Britain’: BDS have estimated that c.22.1 million tonnes of aggregates were moved from more than 80 rail depots in Great Britain in 2021. 

‘Estimated Outputs of Concrete Product Plants in Great Britain’: BDS produced three individual reports for 2021 to reflect outputs for concrete building block plants, concrete block paving plants and concrete paving slab plants in Great Britain. In 2021, BDS estimated the concrete building block market to be nearly 79 million m², the concrete block paving market to be c.18 million m² and the concrete paving slab market to be c.17 million m².

Each BDS output report includes estimates for the volumes and market shares of all of the companies operating within each of the industries in Great Britain. The reports are divided by individual site, county and region and provide a detailed analysis of industry acquisitions and planning activity for the last 12 months.
