Holcim names North American business spin-off
Holcim has announced that its North American business will be renamed Amrize following its planned spin-off, which is expected to be completed by mid-2025. The newly independent company will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AMRZ, with an additional listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
Holcim chairman Jan Jenisch, who will also serve as chairman and CEO of Amrize, said the new name represents the company’s ambitions and commitment to innovation.
“Introducing the Amrize name marks an important step as we prepare Holcim’s North American business to become an independent public company,” said Jenisch. “This is an exciting time for construction in North America, with the ongoing modernisation of infrastructure, the reshoring of manufacturing, and the opportunity to bridge the housing gap with the most advanced building solutions.”
Until the spin-off is complete, Holcim’s North American business will continue to operate as part of the Swiss-based construction materials company. Holcim, which had net sales of CHF 27.0 billion (£24.1 billion) in 2023, operates in markets across Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Asia, supplying materials such as concrete, cement, and roofing solutions.
The company expects the name and branding transition to take effect once the spin-off is finalised, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
