New CEO for The Concrete Society

Claire Ackerman, currently executive director of the MPA (Mineral Products Association), including The Concrete Centre and UK Concrete, will be The Concrete Society's new chief executive officer (CEO). 

A member of The Society's Council, Claire will succeed Kathy Calverley, who has been managing director since 2011. 

Kathy has worked in the cement and concrete industry for over 40 years and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2018 for services to the construction industry.

Kathy will step down after The Concrete Society's AGM and Claire will begin her new role on 1 July.

In a statement on it's LinkedIn page, The Concrete Society said more details will be announced shortly.
