Ready Mix Specialists Ltd (RMS), a concrete and screed supplier in London, Kent, and Essex, has become the latest member of the British Concrete Transport Association (BCTA).

The BCTA, a not-for-profit organisation, provides expertise in transport compliance, health and safety, environmental practices, and skills development for concrete fleet operators. Its support is backed by strategic partners and a network of industry advisors.

Commenting on the new partnership James Dawes, head of corporate and social responsibility at the BCTA said: “We’re delighted that James Carlisle and the RMS team have trusted the BCTA to assist in safe, efficient, and profitable concrete operations. RMS has shown a strong commitment to improving standards, and we look forward to supporting their growth.”

RMS transport manager James Carlisle explained the benefits of joining the BCTA, saying: “Membership gives us access to the latest industry standards and best practices, helping us maintain compliance and improve operational efficiency. It also provides valuable networking opportunities and resources like technical guides and training programmes, which will strengthen our team and our business performance.”

The BCTA has already worked with RMS on initiatives such as a driver engagement event in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police. Dawes added, “Our goal is to support the industry by bringing operators, managers, and the supply chain together to shape and improve standards.

“This partnership marks another step towards raising safety and operational benchmarks in the UK’s concrete transport sector.”
