Cemex supply concrete for new City of Justice
Cemex is to supply high-strength concrete for the construction of a "complex design" to house 10 judicial bodies in Alicante, Spain. Known as the City of Justice, these buildings will be situated across the Spanish city.
The newest addition to Alicante city, which has been designed by architects Ayesa, is led by the local government, Generalitat Valenciana, to offer more efficient services and improve the lives of citizens within the district.
Foundation works on the €86 million (£73 million) project have already begun, and Cemex is providing a total of 30,000 cubic meters of concrete to the project. The company is supplying concrete produced at its nearby Alicante cement plant, located just 10km away from the project. The high-strength product is said to offer high levels of safety and efficiency.
Project completion is expected in late 2025.
High-strength concretes currently offered by Cemex include, Promptis for road repairs, airport runways, and other projects requiring quick turnarounds, Vertua Ultra, part of the company’s low-carbon concrete range, is suitable for sustainable construction projects such as eco-friendly buildings, bridges, and infrastructure, Evolution, which is suitable for complex projects where durability and strength are vital, such as high-rise buildings and large industrial facilities, and Insularis for buildings that require both structural integrity and insulation.
