NPC secures US copyright for name and logo

National Pile Croppers has been granted copyright protection for its name, logo, and services in the United States. The registration acknowledges the company’s contribution to the development of hydraulic pile croppers and its growing presence in North America.

The copyright, valid for ten years, covers the use of ‘NPC’ and ‘National Pile Croppers’ under Class 7 for pile croppers and Class 37 for services related to installation, repair, and rental of construction machinery. It also includes information, advisory, and consultancy services in the field.

The registered design features the stylised wording ‘NPC’ displayed vertically on a piston within a machine, with three chains extending from the top. ‘National Pile Croppers’ appears on a large, shaded rectangle to the right of the machine, accompanied by a smaller quadrilateral.

“You have to prove the words are that well known that they can only be associated with you in your field of application,” said Ian English, director of business development at National Pile Croppers.

“We are incredibly proud to be granted the US copyright as it recognises how synonymous National Pile Croppers is to the piling and pile cropping industry in the US.”

Following the overseas launch of its product range, National Pile Croppers has filed similar copyright registrations in other countries. The company secured UK copyright in 2024, with further approvals pending globally.
