West London’s tallest modular building tops out

The 32-storey Enclave: Acton has reached its full height of 107.8 metres in West London. Designed by developer-contractor Tide Construction and owned by Outpost Management, the building will feature 462 co-living apartments and over 1,600 square metres of amenities.

Tide Construction used its offsite manufacturing arm, Vision, to construct the building using modular techniques, which involved creating pre-fabricated, volumetric units in its factory, which were then assembled onsite. This method enhances efficiency, reduces waste, saved carbon emissions and reduced construction time.

Established in 2012 and acquired by Sisk in 2019, Vision is an offsite manufacturing business delivering 3D Category 1 volumetric modular and 2D Category 2 panelised solutions to Ireland and the UK, across multiple sectors including residential, education, health, commercial and technology..

Christy Hayes, CEO of Tide Construction, said, “This showcases the transformative potential of volumetric construction in addressing the UK’s housing needs.”

James Halstead, CIO at BlackRock, added, “Reaching this milestone so rapidly demonstrates the programme benefits of volumetric construction.”

Tide Construction, a UK leader in modular construction, emphasises sustainable, high-quality housing built at speed and scale. The Enclave: Acton project is expected to open in 2025.
