Roger Bullivant secures major residential contract

Foundation solutions provider Roger Bullivant Limited (RBL) have been awarded their first project with private property development company Dandara in Milton Keynes.

The contract involves installing 10,000 linear meters of precast concrete RBeam and 2,100 driven precast concrete piles to support 285 plots across three phases of a significant residential development project in Milton Keynes.

The project's scope includes the installation of Driven Precast Concrete Piles to depths ranging from 6 to 10m into underlying clays, addressing the unique geotechnical challenges presented by the site in Milton Keynes.

Speaking of the award, a RBL spokesperson said: “The off-site manufacturing process of RBeam enables quick project timelines, enhancing productivity, quality, and safety standards. Whether applied in modular or traditional construction methods, RBeam facilitates accelerated build programs without compromising structural integrity or performance.”

RBL commenced mobilisation on site in April this year, with a phased plan to complete the project by the end of the year.

Roger Bullivant Limited's precast ground beam system, RBeam, has been developed inhouse, and is manufactured to exacting standards offering an alternative to traditional in-situ ground beams. This solution provided a single point of responsibility for the design and construction of the foundation.

The premanufactured piles and beams can significantly reduce carbon emissions compared to trench-fill foundations. Unlike in-situ ground beams where a “one size fits all” design approach is often used, the factory-produced products utilise the precise volumes of concrete and reinforcement to meet individual beam span design requirements aligning with contemporary environmental goals.

Its modular design and stock lengths allows for individual beams to be adjusted, providing unparalleled flexibility in accommodating diverse and complex plot layouts and drainage needs, while not requiring bespoke product lead in times.
